Lasso proceeded with the retrofitting of a set of semiunderground waste containers in three Portuguese municipalities — Silves, Loulé (Vilamoura) and Castro Marim —, in the Algarve region. The process aimed to improve the aesthetics of these equipments, some of them were installed more than 10 years ago. There were in total 59 containers intervened, with all municipalities opting to replace the original wood finishing with the innovative Image Finishing, launched by Lasso in 2015.
Image Finishing has been a success since its launch, due to its multiple advantages, ease of installation, economy and applicability. It is a type of finishing with high definition digital images printed in large format, which transforms the containers into an innovative and versatile communication medium.
This new type of finishing is a great success in the Portuguese municipalities that have already adopted it, such as Vila do Conde, Guimarães and Barreiro, for example, and it was one of the novelties that Lasso presented at Pollutec Lyon, the international fair for equipment, technology and services for the environment, which took place at the end last year, in France. The enormous potential of use and versatility of this type of finishing was received in the international market with great enthusiasm and the fact that it offers the municipalities a new space for communication to the public was one of its strengths.
Although Lasso containers are recognized for their high quality and durability, after some years of operation they may need some maintenance care. That is when Image Finishing comes as an option, with undeniable economic and aesthetic advantages. The Image Finishing is also available as a finishing option for new containers.
